Fellow Congregants,
In response to our government recommendation for statewide closures and the CDC’s advisory we are recommending Powerhouse Ministries follow this guideline until further notice.Closing our doors indefnitely for Sunday morning services, midweek Youth Groups, Bible Study & Pastoral Teaching:While the number of infected is minuscule now here in MO, the facts have shown that the spread becomes exponential once full “community spread” has happened.
While that still is not a big concern for children or healthy adults under 60, it can be deadly for those with medical conditions and the elderly. So we have a responsibility to those members of our congregation and our community to not become carriers ourselves. We also have a responsibility to our health care professionals to behave responsibly. If community spread were to reach its full potential it will buckle our healthcare system and cause similar situations we are seeing in Italy & Spain.
We see it as not only being socially responsible, but spiritually as well. When people feel we are taking care of their physical needs, they will trust us with their spirituality.
POWERHOUSE STAFF WILL CONTINUE TO WORK DAILY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR CONGREGANTS AND OUR COMMUNITY. WE ARE COLLECTING MONETARY DONATIONS TO ASSIST IN FEEDING YOUTH AGES 0-18 DURING THE SCHOOL CLOSURE.
The Church Board will meet weekly to reassess what our next steps will be.This will have a financial impact on the church unless our congregants continue sharing their tithes and offerings.
Please give through the church app, text or cash app or bring tithes to the office throughout the week.
THANK YOU!!!
What we plan on doing during the next 2 weeks and Sunday Mornings
We will be suspending all activities that meet on our church property. We will be connecting through social media and newsletter providing spiritual guidance and discipleship. We will increase our communication by providing educational, as well as, disciple-based talks and articles. We will create a way to encourage people who have not downloaded the app, or liked our Facebook page to do so. This will keep them connected to the church during this time. If you can, please feel free to share this media with people asking how to stay connected.During Sunday morning we will post sermonettes that will be on our website, Instagram, Twitter and FaceBook.
